Equipment:
– Slow Juicer or Centrifuge Juicer
– High speed blender

We recommend using a slow juicer. This way you can prepare your juice in advance and keep it in the fridge for up to 48 hours. If you are using a fast/centrifuge juicer, you will need to consume your juice immediately as the released heat of the machine will make the juice oxidise faster.

Bonus:

Anti-inflammatory elixer aka Flu shot

You will need a a slow juicer for this recipe

flu shot juice
1 fresh turmeric
2 cm of ginger
1 lemon/lime
1 cup of alkaline water
1 pinch of cayenne pepper

Wash the vegetables, cut them in small parts (lemon and lime without the skin). Add the ginger to the juicer and add the alkaline water (keep the top on the juicer outlet so the water doesn’t come out). Add the lemon/lime and turmeric. Let it mix a bit and then let the juice out.

Take a shot of this in the morning with a little pinch of cayenne pepper.

Almond milk

1 cup of raw organic unsalted almonds
3 cups of filtered (alkaline) water
1 vanilla pod (optional)

Soak your almonds in water for 8 to 12 hours (or a bit longer if you want your milk creamier).
Drain the almonds and rinse them.
Blend the almonds with 3 cups of (alkaline) water in a blender.
Strain the mixture through a nut milk bag, pantyhose, cheesecloth or by using a fine sieve

Adding vanilla gives the almond milk a special touch, but if you want to use the milk to mix with your green juices, it will be better to make it without the vanilla. You can keep the milk in the fridge for a maximum of 3 days.

For those without a fine sieve, cheesecloth, nut milk bag or pantyhose; I used to take the skin off the almonds after soaking them. After blending I would just leave the pulp in the milk. The pulp eventually separates from the milk and stays on the bottom of the bottle. It is less delicious though and the milk turns sour much faster, so be careful with that.

Fast and furious coconut milk

fresh coconut milk
2 cups of dehydrated grated coconut
4 – 5 cups of hot water

Blend this in a high speeds blender, but make sure the hot air can escape while blending. If you don’t let the air escape by taking the plastic small top off a bit, the blender will explode!!

Strain through a sieve or a nut milk bag or a cheese cloth.
You can mix the pulp a few times with water in the blender.
The thicker and creamier you want the milk, the less water you should use while mixing it with the coconut.

Let the milk cool before keeping it in the fridge. The milk can be kept in the fridge for 3 days.

Avocado smoothie

avocado smoothie
– the meat of 1 small hass avocado or 1/2 large avocado
– nut milk (amount depends on how thick you want your smoothie
– 1 teaspoon of cinnamon

Blend it all together in a blender. You can add some flax seeds and chia seeds for an extra energy boost. You can also add 1 turmeric root to the blender for an anti-inflammatory boost.

Thank you. Is spinach, radish and red cabbage recommended for an alkaline diet?
