Thanksgiving equals whole roasted turkey for most of you. But we all know that turkey is acidic for our bodies. A great alternative is this delicious whole roasted cauliflower from Jamie Oliver. It’s way faster to make than a turkey, healthier and so delicious.

Pumpkin Biscuits with Sage and Thyme by Vegan RichaPumpkin Bsicuits with Sage and Thyme by Vegan Richa

I love Vegan Richa. Her recipes are so tasteful and full of spices. These pumpkin biscuits with sage and thyme are so amazing. It’s been a while since I made them, but I am definitely going to add these to my holiday menu this year. They are easy to make and Vegan Richa gives you also the option to make them gluten free. Try them with some vegan gravy (next recipe).

We all love our biscuits with gravy, so the gravy cannot be left out. We’ve found an easy tasty vegan gravy recipe without mushrooms that you will want to pour over your whole plate. Kitchen Treaty Vegan Onion Gravy only uses 6 ingredients. It doesn’t get easier than that. In the recipe they use butter but they give you a vegan option. You can use vegan butter instead mixed with olive oil or only use olive oil.

Glazed Carrot Salad by Bryant TerryGlazed Carrot Salad by Bryant Terry (Afro-Vegan cookbook)

For my early Thanksgiving dinner with friends this year I was in charge of the veggies. One of the veggie dishes I brought was the maple glazed carrot salad of Bryant Terry’s Afro-Vegan cookbook. I love this recipe because it has it all: sweet, savoury, zesty, fresh and a crunch. I prefer to substitute the peanuts for roasted almonds in this recipe to make it more alkaline. But it’s the holidays so we can be a little bad, right?
